Private by design — your photos never leave your device.

The short version

DetectMyFaceShape is designed to be private by default. The face shape detection runs entirely in your browser using on-device machine learning. Your camera feed and any photo you analyze never leave your device, are never uploaded to our servers, and are never stored or shared by us. We do not require an account, and we do not sell or trade personal information.

Photos and camera

When you use the detector, images from your camera or the file you upload are processed locally in your browser to measure facial landmarks. These images stay in your device’s memory only for as long as needed to produce a result and are discarded when you close or refresh the page. We have no ability to see, receive, or retain them.

Information stored on your device

We use your browser’s local storage to remember two small, non-identifying preferences: your light/dark theme choice, and a counter of how many analyses have been run in your browser. This data lives only on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Third-party services

To load and run the tool, your browser requests files from a few third-party providers, which may receive your IP address and standard request information as part of delivering those files:

Google Fonts — serves the site typeface.
jsDelivr & Google Cloud Storage — deliver the MediaPipe Face Landmarker model and runtime used for detection.
DiceBear — generates the illustrated avatar images shown in the reviews section.

These providers process requests under their own privacy policies. They receive only what any web server receives when your browser loads a file; they do not receive your photos or camera feed.

Cookies and tracking

We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The only local data we use is the browser local storage described above.

Children’s privacy

The tool does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
